#4 Duck — Greige

#4 is a contradiction that works. Often called “24 oz” duck in the trade, this weight actually measures approximately 23.5 oz/sq.yd — heavy enough to handle serious abuse, yet good-looking enough that high-end bag makers keep coming back for it. With 5-plied yarns in both directions, it has the kind of strength that earns repeat orders.

This bag was made from a roll of #4 Duck rejected by a customer 25+ years ago. They wrote “BAD” on it. We added “SHAH” to make it “BADSHAH” — Persian for “King” — and never washed it. Not once. The bag’s still going strong. So is the customer, actually. Time for a reunion?
