Some fabrics are built to go outside. These are built to stay there. Salt spray. Gale winds. Sun that doesn’t quit. They’re not coming inside. Neither is the weather.

We carry two finishes: DWR (water and mildew repellent) and FWR (water, mildew, and flame retardant per CPAI-84). Both are built on 100% Cotton Army Ducks woven with ring-spun yarns. Longer fibers. Stronger fabric. Most of the fabric out there use open end yarns with short fibers. Ours doesn’t. End result: a fabric that takes a beating from the elements and stays strong.

It also comes with a tucked-in selvedge. Not a leno edge. If you sew, you know. If you don’t, trust the people who do. Preshrunk to less than 3% residual shrinkage. Because surprises are for birthdays, not boat covers. Yes, we tested it. Yes, it passed. The reports aren’t online. They’re on our desk. Ask and you’ll get them. We’re funny that way.

The finish is dry. Odorless. Unlike the waxed fabrics down the hall. VAT dyed, which means the color goes deep and stays there. Water rolls off. Mildew gives up. Rot doesn’t start. PFAS-free. Prop 65 compliant. EPA standards met. All the good stuff. None of the bad.
